Salient Group LLP is recruiting for a qualified candidate to fill the vacant full-time position of Compliance Officer/MLRO (Money Laundering Reporting Officer) with a reputable company in Belize City.
The Compliance Officer/MLRO is responsible for ensuring that the company functions in a legal and ethical manner while meeting its business goals. The successful candidate will provide oversight for anti-money laundering (AML) and financial crime policies and procedures and will act as a focal point for related inquiries. They will be responsible for developing compliance programs, reviewing company policies, and advising management on possible risks. The candidate will serve as the primary contact for examiners, independent reviewers, and regulatory bodies, to include oversight of compliance site visits and reviews. They are expected to develop an effective training program for incoming employees, as well as to conduct ongoing training for all other employees and managers, on all things related to anti-money laundering and financial crime policies, and compliance.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years’ experience in compliance and will exemplify strong knowledge of industry protocols and best practices. They will be CAMS or FIBA certified and at minimum possess an Associate degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. The preferred candidate will also have exceptional writing and communication skills and have an excellent command of the English language (speaking/reading/writing). Being bi-lingual would be an asset but it is not a requirement of the position. We expect that the candidate will demonstrate a keen attention to detail and superb analytical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex policies and regulatory documents.
