Salient Group LLP is seeking a qualified and experienced Maintenance Assistant to support operations at a Port Liquid Terminal site in Belize.
The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for supporting the maintenance schedule to ensure efficient operation of mechanical and electrical systems, performing routine maintenance, repairs, inspections, and troubleshooting to maintain terminal reliability and performance
Key Responsibilities:
- Support maintenance activities for mechanical and electrical systems within the terminal.
- Perform maintenance and repair work on equipment such as PLCs, relays, motors, AC systems, and switchgears.
- Conduct routine inspections and assist during shutdowns and plant turnaround.
- Troubleshoot equipment and control circuits and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, security, and environmental procedures.
- Use CMMS to plan, schedule, and manage work orders.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Respond to emergency call-outs outside normal working hours when required.
- Support supervisor with task allocation, reporting, and coordination.
Job Requirements
Education & Knowledge:
- Diploma in Industrial Electrical Technician or completion of tertiary education (6th Form).
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in industrial electrical/electronic maintenance and repair.
- Basic knowledge of industrial systems and maintenance practices.
Skills & Abilities:
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
- Strong communication skills in English; Spanish is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
- Ability to safely use tools and work at heights when required.
